Titles are a pita to come up with!

Ron always finds the best things to give me!  This table top easel was for Valentine's day.  It will make painting much easier because you should have seen me working on the yoga frogs from the last post.  I had the canvas on top of a drop sheet with a pillow under it and part of the time it was balancing against a lamp.  Ridiculousness!

Two paintings that I'm currently stuck on are these:

11x14x1/4" board

12x12x1 1/2" canvas

I say stuck because I like them enough to not mess up by going forward into the unknown, but, also know they aren't finished.  So a matte glaze went on and will get back to them... eventually.  Or not.

Wow, am so tired of the cold weather!  Even though I do enjoy all the seasons for different reasons, as it gets toward the end of one I'm anticipating the next.   Really haven't enjoyed much of this winter though, other than Christmastime, so hurry up SPRING!

This made me laugh! 😆 Also, I actually want people to picture this because I do love dragons.

Yoga Frogs

While responding to comments, I said to Bijoux that while I'm here I should put up another post.  So here I am!!
A while back I shared a painting I did from following a tutorial.  (Male/female cardinals sitting on flowers) The artist, Michelle the Painter, is super cool.  Her painting style is quite fun, and she's so generous to teach her techniques.  I follow her on YouTube.
Here's another one of hers that I recently painted.

Maybe if I keep posts short, I'll be able to get myself into a better routine here.  I'll be around to read a bit more hopefully later today since Ron will be watching football.  Even though it's a championship game for the Eagles, I don't follow sports.  My family is excited about it though so will definitely watch a few plays!  🦅🏈📣

A January ramble

Hello my old blogging friends!
I feel sad sometimes knowing I've not been able to keep current here. 😢
Mostly, my concentration just hasn’t been all that great.  The time it takes me to compose a blog post is ridiculous.  I’ve attempted 3x since last summer!   And this one where I’m super determined to make work…whew… type, erase, add, subtract.  Then a bit of worry over composition, punctuation, erase, think think, add, delete, etc.  So it’s not that I don’t have anything to say, oh, that would be a shocking and weird day right!? 😆  It all just becomes too jumbled.

I am actually on Facebook very often.  FB is a bit different though.  Posts are much shorter and pictures and albums are easier to share.  Blogger acts up a lot… comments are glitchy and difficult to leave on various blogs and photos can be a challenge too.  Also, many blogs are quite wordy.  I know that I could post a hello, a meme, a few photos with basic descriptions, more like I do on FB, but if I’m here for connection with others then I’d need to read/comment on what you’re all posting and it’s a lot of content sometimes.  I admire everyone who is able to do it!!  It’s just harder for me to follow these days.
Maybe it’s a brain issue.  (Kinda still blaming menopause. 😏)  I used to read books frequently, but can’t tell you how long it’s been now since one has been finished.  Years!!!  Even articles are challenging at times.
I’m not forgetting family or putting my car keys in the freezer, so probably not anything too serious, but still frustrating because some of you do actually pop into my mind!!   Definitely did enjoy reading all the things over many years… vacations, local histories, adventures in your cities, food, family stories, etc. so it does bother me that I can’t remain connected to you all more consistently now.
Will keep trying though!!  Even if it’s just one post here and there.
Don’t completely give up on me, ok!?

Since I always shared photos, here's one of Luna snuggled in after a hectic Christmas!  That tree behind the couch is actually still up and lit right now.  It might get put away before the end of the month, but it's been so cold and a bit snowy so the glow in dreary January is kinda nice.

Hope you're all doing well.  Good wishes for 2025!

Cards

I was going to share a belated Christmas post, but now that we're well into February I'm sure no one wants to see all that.  THIS tree I only took down today!  It was on a table behind the couch, and gave off a nice glow for a while, so I kept it up.  It felt good to clean and dust back there though.

My art room also got much needed attention not too long ago.   Was able to organize various supplies and find the table again.  So I've been busy making cards.   This particular style I've done before... handmade envelopes with flowers, butterflies, hearts coming out of them.   I could sit for hours just playing with paper!  Cutting out shapes with my punches, using little foam pop dots to raise up some of them, and I'm even starting to add rhinestones to some since I have a decent supply left from other projects.

I'm still having some issues leaving comments on a couple of your posts.  Others, I'm just behind in reading and will get to you all soon.  Don't even ask about the photo situation.  There's still hope that you'll hear about our anniversary outings, but I haven't managed to find/organize those into an album yet.  Maybe by our next anniversary.  😜

Have a wonderful weekend!! 🤗

What day is it??

I think I blinked around Halloween and it's now 2024! 😲

So...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🥳🎉

There's so much to catch up on.  I'm slowly visiting your pages to see what's new.

It's been busy here!

Just a sneak peek of hopefully a couple future blog posts... or... maybe I'll pop back in around April with some halfhearted apology about why I'm always breezing in and out of here.  😆

Ron and I celebrated our 40th ANNIVERSARY in November!!!  It was actually a full month of celebrating, and I don't even have all the photos ready.  Excuse #1, phone problems.  Excuse #2, we've been busy!  Excuse # ....  ok, ok... you get it! 😬
This photo was taken at the restaurant Butcher and Singer in Philadelphia.  We were actually there twice during the month, at the beginning, then the end.  Both times, wonderful!

December was quite busy, too!  As you probably remember from previous posts, I do like to decorate for Christmas.  This year, there were over 160 trees in our house!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄  A sprawling mansion, you ask?  NO, a 2 bedroom bungalow.  I wedged them in like pieces in a game of Tetris. Ha!   Confession:  Here's a picture of the biggest one.  The rest were medium to very small.  The smallest ones were about an inch tall.  But all were counted to get to that big total.

That's it for right now, but I'll be catching up on your posts and working on photos and hopefully be back here again soon.
Hope you all enjoy an AMAZING NEW YEAR!!!
